Our client is a growing specialist property finance lender seeking a Junior Underwriter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in real estate finance who is looking to develop their underwriting career within a supportive and expanding business. The successful candidate will be involved in the assessment, underwriting and ongoing management of property‑backed lending transactions, working closely with borrowers and internal stakeholders throughout the loan lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess borrower affordability and financial suitability
  • Manage loan applications from initial enquiry through to completion
  • Underwrite lending proposals whilst identifying and mitigating risk
  • Analyse property assets and market conditions to support lending decisions
  • Assist with post‑completion loan administration and portfolio management
  • Monitor existing loans to ensure ongoing performance and compliance
  • Liaise with borrowers, brokers, solicitors and other professional advisers
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure cases progress within agreed timeframes

About You

  • Previous experience within property finance, bridging finance, development finance or a similar lending environment
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Comfortable dealing directly with clients and professional contacts
  • Good understanding of the UK property market
  • Knowledge of interest rates and their impact on the property sector would be advantageous

Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
