Who we look for
We are interested in speaking with senior lawyers who share our values and want to practise law differently.
- Legal expertise: You will be a recognised expert in your field, typically with a minimum of 8 years’ post‑qualification experience. Partners come from leading City, national and international firms, senior in‑house roles, and established boutique or independent practices. Spencer West is consistently recognised in Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500, reflecting the firm’s depth of expertise and commitment to excellence.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: You will have the ambition and growth mindset to run your own practice. This may be as an individual practitioner or with a view to building and growing a team.
- Client‑centric: You will have an established or developing client following and a commitment to building long‑term client relationships and growing your practice.

Qualifications
- An active practising certificate/ licence to practice law with no restrictions
- Willingness to operate on a self‑employed basis (as a sole trader or via a limited company – your choice)
