We are committed to delivering accurate, practical and client-focused advice in a professional and supportive working environment.

Role Description We are seeking a capable, highly organised and responsible paralegal to support our UK immigration practice.

The successful candidate will work closely with a senior immigration solicitor and assist with matters from initial instruction through to submission and completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing immigration application forms, supporting-document checklists, document schedules and application bundles.
  • Drafting client correspondence, attendance notes, statements, representations and other legal documents.
  • Reviewing identity, financial, employment, relationship and immigration documents for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
  • Conducting legal and factual research using legislation, the Immigration Rules, Home Office guidance and relevant case law.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate electronic client files, including consistent naming, filing and version control of documents.
  • Safely receiving, recording, organising, storing and returning clients’ original physical documents.
  • Taking day-to-day ownership of allocated files, monitoring their progress and accepting responsibility for ensuring that required work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintaining clear task lists, identifying outstanding evidence and proactively following up with clients and third parties.
  • Monitoring all case deadlines, appointments, visa-expiry dates and procedural requirements.
  • Liaising professionally with clients, the Home Office, counsel and other relevant third parties.
  • Arranging client appointments and assisting with the collection, review and verification of supporting evidence.
  • Providing clients with clear progress updates under the supervision of the senior immigration solicitor.
  • Assisting with sponsor licence, compliance and right-to-work matters where required.
  • Supporting the preparation of asylum, human rights and further-submissions cases where appropriate.
  • Using approved artificial-intelligence tools responsibly to assist with research, document review, case preparation and drafting.
  • Independently checking every AI-assisted output against the source documents and authoritative legal materials, applying a zero-tolerance approach to hallucinations, invented facts, inaccurate citations and unverified legal propositions.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and complying with applicable professional, regulatory and data-protection requirements.
  • Contributing ideas to improve the efficiency, organisation and quality of the immigration practice.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • A genuine and demonstrable interest in developing specialist expertise in UK immigration law.
  • A strong sense of case ownership and a willingness to accept day-to-day responsibility for allocated files.
  • A proactive approach to progressing cases, following up outstanding matters and anticipating the next required steps.
  • Strong written English and the ability to develop clear, accurate and professional legal drafting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when checking names, dates, immigration histories, application forms and supporting evidence.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Professional and confident communication with clients from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Good legal and factual research skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and confidence in learning electronic case-management and document-management systems.
  • Either existing confidence in using AI-assisted tools or a genuine willingness to learn how to use them responsibly in legal casework.
  • An understanding that AI output must never be accepted at face value and that all AI-assisted work must be independently verified against the case evidence and authoritative legal sources.
  • Ability to work independently when appropriate while following supervision and escalating uncertainties or risks promptly.
  • A dependable, professional and client-focused approach.
  • Sensitivity when assisting vulnerable clients or dealing with confidential and distressing information.

  • Experience handling confidential information and maintaining organised electronic or physical records.
  • Exposure to immigration, asylum, human rights or nationality law through academic study or practical experience.
