Location: City Of London, England, United Kingdom

Pay: £70,000 – £78,000 (depending on experience)

This part‑time role is 20 hours a week (2.5 days) within a 40‑hour work week.

We are looking for a Network Engineer to help operate, support, and develop our enterprise network environment in close partnership with the Network Architect. You will contribute to network improvements, uphold security standards, and optimise performance to ensure reliability and resilience of the platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, support and develop the enterprise network environment.
  • Deliver network improvements in partnership with the Network Architect.
  • Maintain security standards and optimise performance.
  • Occasionally install/remove equipment, refresh end‑of‑life infrastructure, and carry out fibre patching.
  • Participate in firewall change management and rule implementation.
  • Support Cisco FMC, FTD, and IPS systems; work with NAC solutions.
  • Monitor and manage network using monitoring tools.
  • Assist with cloud networking, particularly AWS.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of network engineering experience.
  • Network qualifications (expired Cisco qualifications accepted).
  • Proven experience with Cisco networking equipment and technologies.
  • Experience with firewall change management.
  • Experience with Cisco FMC, FTD, IPS, and NAC.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Exposure to vendors such as Palo Alto or Mellanox.
  • Knowledge of automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
  • Experience with cloud networking, especially AWS.

  • Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF.
  • Switching technologies: VLANs, STP, Port Channels.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
