The role involves leading our Operations Team to ensure Spencer Rose continues to run smoothly, efficiently and effectively as we scale. Working closely with the Managing Director, you will play a key role in improving how the business operates, supporting the Sales team, managing operational projects, and ensuring our processes, systems and compliance standards are robust and fit for growth. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys leading people, improving processes, coordinating change and working across multiple business areas including HR, compliance, contractor management, finance, supplier management, office operations, reporting and internal recruitment.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Operations Team, ensuring the business has effective day-to-day operational support across both offices.
- Support the Managing Director with business improvement initiatives, operational planning and projects that help the business scale successfully.
- Manage HR, compliance and employment policy processes, ensuring Spencer Rose remains aligned with internal standards and relevant legal, regulatory and industry requirements.
- Oversee GDPR, onboarding, induction and internal compliance processes, ensuring employees, clients and contractors have a smooth and professional experience.
- Coordinate internal recruitment activity, including social media campaigns, third-party supplier relationships, interview coordination, selection and offer processes.
- Ensure office management, health and safety, vendor contracts and supplier relationships are managed effectively and provide value to the business.
- Manage contractor onboarding processes, umbrella company PSL requirements and audit activity to maintain high compliance standards.
- Oversee financial operations and reporting, including PO and timesheet processes, supplier payments, sales reporting, margin analysis and ROI reporting.
- Manage brand templates, documentation, management packs, candidate documents and other digital media or marketing support delivered by the Operations Team.
- Act as a SuperUser for Bullhorn CRM, coordinating training, promoting best practice and improving functionality to support the sales process.
- Review and drive placement control standards to ensure the business delivers a consistent, high-quality service.
About you:
You will be an organised, proactive and commercially aware Operations Manager who is confident managing people, projects, suppliers and processes in a fast-paced environment. You will be comfortable working closely with senior leadership, supporting sales-focused teams and taking ownership of operational improvements from planning through to delivery.
- Experience managing operational teams and business support functions.
- Strong understanding of HR, compliance, onboarding and office management processes.
- Confident managing suppliers, contracts, service levels and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent organisation, communication and project coordination skills.
- Ability to improve systems, processes and reporting to support business growth.
- Experience with CRM systems, ideally Bullhorn, would be beneficial.
- A positive, hands-on approach with the ability to balance detail, pace and commercial priorities.
