City of London (hybrid) £75,000 - £85,000 per annum

On behalf of a market leading organisation, I am seeking a SQL Server Automation Engineer. You will hold strong SQL Server experience to join a high-performing team managing a hybrid data platform including SQL Server, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI. You'll still work closely with databases day to day, but you'll also get involved in automation, cloud platform work, and data pipelines, helping shape how the organisation modernises its data platform over time. It's a good fit for someone who wants to move beyond keeping the lights on and into building and improving systems at scale. The organisation is pleased to offer this on a hybrid working basis with 3 days per week in their City of London offices, therefore you must be within commutable reach of London.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support SQL Server environments (including Always On, upgrades, performance tuning, HA/DR)
  • Improve how data moves through the platform using Azure Data Factory and related tools
  • Build automation and CI/CD for database and platform changes using PowerShell, Terraform, and Azure DevOps
  • Improve monitoring, reliability, and operational efficiency across the data platform
  • Support cloud adoption and modernisation efforts
