We're partnering with a global reinsurance powerhouse to hire a Power BI Developer into a high-impact data team supporting underwriting, actuarial, and exposure functions. This is not a dashboard-only role. You'll be working deep in the data - building robust semantic models, writing complex DAX, and leveraging SQL to deliver meaningful, business-critical insight across the organisation. If you're someone who enjoys owning the full data-to-insight life cycle, this is a brilliant opportunity to step into a business where data genuinely drives decision-making at scale.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing and developing Power BI solutions end-to-end (not just Front End dashboards)
- Building and maintaining semantic data models for enterprise reporting
- Writing advanced DAX measures to support complex analytical use cases
- Working with SQL to extract, transform, and shape data from multiple sources
- Partnering closely with underwriting and actuarial teams to translate requirements into data products
- Improving data quality, governance, and performance of reporting solutions
What They're Looking For:
- 1+ years' experience working with Power BI in a commercial environment
- Strong experience with: DAX (essential), SQL (essential), Data modelling/semantic layers
- Experience working beyond just UI/dashboarding (this is critical)
- Insurance or reinsurance experience - non-negotiable
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with non-technical stakeholders
Why This Role?
- Join a globally recognised reinsurance business with a strong reputation in the market
- Work on meaningful, business-critical data problems, not just reporting tickets
- Gain exposure to actuarial and underwriting analytics
- Collaborative, mature data environment with real investment in BI
- Flexible hybrid working (typically 2-3 days in the office, but not rigid)
Package:
- £55,000 base salary
- Performance-related bonus
- Strong benefits package (pension, healthcare, etc.)
If you're a Power BI Developer with insurance experience looking to step into a more technically engaging and commercially impactful role, this is well worth a conversation.
