Spencer Rose is urgently seeking a Lead Java Developer to work on an exciting transformation programme for our Tier1 banking client working on modern, cloud-native applications and microservices. Based in Edinburgh.

Duration: 6-12 months (with possible extensions)
Rate: Β£#removed#pd all inclusive
Location: Edinburgh - hybrid - 2 days a week in the office
Key skills:
- Strong Java (8/11/17+) development experience with enterprise applications
- Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate and microservices architecture
- React.js, JavaScript & TypeScript with modern Front End development practices
- Docker & Kubernetes and CI/CD using Jenkins, Git/GitHub
- Strong automated testing experience with JUnit, Mockito, Jest, React Testing Library and Playwright
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB
- Performance tuning, profiling and application optimisation
- Security principles including JWT, OWASP and Zero Trust
- Experience with Kafka/event-driven architecture and cloud-native development
- Strong code review, pair programming and TDD/shift-left mindset
Desirable:
GCP, Node.js, Dynatrace/Splunk and banking/financial services experience.
