Job Description \n Senior Golang Engineer \n Location: Bristol, UK Working pattern: Hybrid Rate: £400 per day \n We're looking for a Senior Golang Engineer to join a specialist engineering team within a large financial services organisation, working on technology that supports the security of high-scale mobile applications. \n The team is responsible for developing a suite of mobile security components and associated services, helping mobile engineering teams operate securely and confidently in an evolving threat landscape. \n This is a hands-on Back End engineering role, focused on building secure, scalable and high-performance services using Go, alongside modern cloud, containerisation and DevOps technologies. \n What you'll be doing \n \n Designing and developing secure, scalable, enterprise-grade applications using Go \n Building and maintaining REST APIs and microservices \n Working with containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes \n Contributing to DevOps practices including infrastructure automation, CI/CD and deployment strategies \n Designing Back End services capable of meeting demanding performance and non-functional requirements \n Performance tuning and optimising Back End applications \n Working with observability and monitoring tools to maintain reliability and performance \n Collaborating closely with other engineers while also taking ownership of individual technical areas \n Contributing to coding standards, code management, Agile development and continuous delivery practices \n Working on technology with a strong focus on application and mobile security \n \n What we're looking for \n \n Extensive commercial experience developing secure, scalable Go applications \n Strong experience with REST APIs, microservices and containerised environments \n Good understanding of Docker and Kubernetes \n Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD, infrastructure automation and deployment strategies \n Experience working with cloud platforms \n Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and Agile development \n Experience optimising and fine-tuning Back End applications against demanding NFRs \n Strong analytical and problem-solving skills \n Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace \n Comfortable working collaboratively within a team while also taking ownership and working independently \n \n Desirable experience \n \n Experience developing with Java \n Experience with cryptography frameworks in Go and/or Java \n Experience working with SQL databases \n Knowledge of or interest in application security and/or mobile app security \n \n The opportunity \n You'll be working on Back End technology supporting mobile security at significant scale, within a team combining Golang engineering, cloud technologies, DevOps and application security . \n It's a strong opportunity for a Senior Go Engineer who enjoys solving complex Back End problems and wants to work on secure, high-performance services within a large technology environment.
