Job Description \n Senior Android Engineer \n Location: Bristol, UK Working pattern: Hybrid - 2 days on site Rate: £375-£400 per day inside IR35 \n We're looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join a large financial services organisation and play a key role in the security and development of its mobile applications. \n You'll be joining a specialist mobile security team responsible for building and maintaining a range of security components and services used across a large portfolio of mobile applications. The team works closely with mobile engineering, strategy and technology teams to ensure applications are secure, scalable and able to evolve alongside an ever-changing threat landscape. \n This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll be involved in designing, developing and delivering mobile components and services, while also working closely with stakeholders to shape technical solutions. \n What you'll be doing \n \n Designing and developing high-quality Android applications and reusable mobile components \n Working closely with engineering and strategy teams to architect and implement technical solutions \n Contributing to the security, scalability and performance of mobile applications \n Working within a large, modularised Android codebase \n Helping to establish and maintain Android development best practices \n Working with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions \n Supporting performance optimisation, testing and continuous improvement across the mobile platform \n \n What we're looking for \n \n Strong commercial experience developing Android applications \n Excellent knowledge of Kotlin and/or Java \n Strong understanding of the Android SDK and Android UI design principles \n Good knowledge of Android architecture patterns and best practices \n Experience with offline storage, threading and performance tuning \n Strong knowledge of the wider open-source Android ecosystem and commonly used libraries \n Experience with Git and modern software development practices \n Strong understanding and practical application of SOLID principles \n Experience with MVVM/MVI architecture , Android Architecture Components and Jetpack libraries \n Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose \n Experience working within a modularised codebase \n Experience with UI testing \n \n The opportunity \n You'll be working on mobile technology used at significant scale, within a team that sits at the intersection of Android engineering, mobile security and financial services . \n It's a great opportunity for a Senior Android Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working with modern Android technologies and collaborating with teams across a large technology environment.
