Spencer Rose are seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Java) to join a Tier-1 banking client in Manchester on an initial 6 month contract.
Start: ASAP - interviews are taking place within 2 working days
Location - Manchester - 2 days a week must be in the office
Rate: £pd Inside IR35
Duration: 6months +
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 11+, Spring and Spring Boot 3.x.
- Experience developing microservices, REST APIs, Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams.
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modelling, data analysis and dbt.
- Cloud experience across AWS, GCP or Azure, ideally including GKE.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins, IAM and API gateways such as Apigee.
- Experience with Python, Pytest, API automation and ETL testing.
- Strong understanding of TDD, BDD, shift-left testing, unit, integration and regression testing.
- Familiarity with security and performance testing, and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana and Prometheus.
- Experience with Jira, Xray and Allure Reports.
- Banking or financial services experience is highly desirable.
Desirable Skills
Experience with Harness, Backstage golden paths, One IDP and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
