A leading international business within the architectural aluminium and façade systems sector is collaborating with a retained recruitment partner, and we are currently seeking a Technical Services Manager to join their growing UK operation. The position will be focused on leading a technical services function, supporting customers and projects across façade, curtain walling and aluminium systems applications, while managing a small technical team and remaining hands-on with project support and technical coordination.

About the Job:

The position will be focused on:

  • Managing and developing a small technical services team
  • Providing technical support to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting façade and aluminium systems projects
  • Reviewing technical drawings and project details
  • Assisting with bespoke and technically challenging applications
  • Supporting commercial and operational teams with technical expertise

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and mentoring a technical services team
  • Providing technical support across façade and aluminium systems projects
  • Reviewing and preparing technical drawings, schedules and details
  • Supporting customers, fabricators, contractors and architects with technical guidance
  • Assisting with bespoke façade applications and complex technical queries
  • Coordinating with commercial, operational and design teams
  • Attending customer meetings, technical reviews and project discussions
  • Supporting compliance, technical standards and best practice initiatives
  • Working closely with internal departments to ensure successful project support and delivery

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience within façade, curtain walling, architectural aluminium or building envelope sectors
  • Previous experience within technical support, design management or technical services functions
  • Strong understanding of curtain walling, façade or aluminium systems
  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Previous customer-facing technical experience
  • Team leadership or management experience preferred
  • Revit / BIM experience advantageous
  • Experience working for a systems house or façade specialist beneficial
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings and project support
