We are partnering with a growing, medium-sized business to recruit a Head of Finance. This is a key leadership role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function. As the business continues to evolve, this role will suit a hands-on finance leader who is comfortable operating in a changing environment.
The Role
As Head of Finance, you will be the go-to person for all finance-related matters, leading the finance team and ensuring the smooth running of core financial operations. You will play a pivotal role in financial reporting, compliance, and providing insight to support FP&A activity and Board-level decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day finance function
- Ensure robust financial controls, policies, and procedures are in place and adhered to
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable
- Lead the month-end close process and production of management accounts
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow
- Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely payments and effective issue resolution
- Oversee payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payment
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support strategic planning
- Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts
- Support budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with the Finance Director and senior stakeholders
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors during the annual audit
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
About You
- An experienced Finance Manager or similar, ready to step into a senior leadership role
- Background within a small to medium-sized business environment
- Comfortable working in a hands-on role with broad responsibility
- Adaptable, resilient, and positive in the face of change
- Ambitious, with a desire to grow and develop as the business scales
