This role will be leading the implementation and maintenance of compliant Health and Safety and environmental management systems across their sites in Birmingham, Bradford & Wigan.

We are looking for a driven and team-orientated HSE professional who is passionate about continuous improvement., + Based from the Birmingham office, regular travel to Bradford & Wigan, developing a proactive safety culture across all operations.

  • Working closely with department managers to identify potential non-compliance.

  • Perform risk assessments across operational duties.

  • Lead investigations on significant incidents or accidents – sharing reports and lessons learned.

  • Design and implement HSE Management Procedures.

  • Conduct HSE audits – (OHSA45001 & ISO 14001), producing reports to highlight inefficiencies, areas of non-compliance and disseminate action plans.

  • Be the point of contact to coordinate activities for external audits.

  • Create detailed audit reports, monitor progress of of action plans and continue to perform informal reviews.

  • Attend HSE meetings and workshops.

  • Support in producing and delivering HSE training materials in HSE subjects to the workforce.

  • If necessary, liaise with the Insurance Manager on the investigation of any claims.

  • Work cross collaboratively with the Environment Team.

  • Genuine team player and natural collaborator.

  • Previous experience managing H&S Systems within construction or civil infrastructure.

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (in construction).

  • Strong diplomatic communication and influencing skills.

  • Practical and solution focussed.

  • Excellent knowledge of H&S legislation, best practise and the desire to continuously improve.

  • No compromise attitude towards safety.

  • Flexibility to travel across sites were necessary.
