The role looks after the finance team and reports into the Finance Director, and will be responsible for managing all of the day to day financial operations for the business. Our client is a medium sized business that is growing, and with that comes organisational change, therefore we are looking for someone that responds to change well and can be flexible when needed. You will be the go-to person for all queries, overseeing VAT returns, supplier payments, payroll and working closely with the FD to support in the production of reporting for FP&A work and strategic insight for the Board.
Some key responsibilities:
- Ensuring all policies, procedures and internal financial controls are being implemented and adhered to
- Managing accounts payable and receivable
- Lead and coordinate month-end closing activities
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns accurately and to the deadline
- Manage supplier relationships positively, ensuring accurate and timely payments and resolving any issues quickly
- Payroll, ensuring payment is made on time and accurately with all records kept updated
- Provide detailed financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts
- Work with the FD and senior stakeholders on budgeting and forecasting
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits
- Lead the finance team, offering mentoring and professional development where required
