We arelooking for a friendly, flexible and motivated Health care assistant, to joinour forward-thinking ward at Spencer Private Hospital in Margate.
Workingclosely with a team of individuals who provide a professional and competentservice in the delivery of health care across the company, youll play a keyrole in supporting patients who access our services for elective clinicalprocedures. Delivering and evaluating high standards of evidenced based careto a diverse group of individuals.
Theward delivers high-quality care across a varied range of specialtiesincluding, Orthopedic, general surgery and Gynecology services,
Theward consists of 22 single rooms with ensuite facilities.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible forundertaking and recording a comprehensive delivery of care without directsupervision, is accountable for the care delivered and omissions of care.Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, contributing toeffective communication, continuity of care, and service improvementinitiatives.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills,participate in training and supervision, and adhere to all infection control,safeguarding, and health & safety standards.
Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursingcare in line with clinical guidelines and trust values that incorporate Care,Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Teamwork and empathy promoting apositive patient experience

Job responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE
To actively participate in thedelivery of a high standard of vital patient centred care
To assist in the delivery ofclinical and nonclinical care and safety support clinical staff under teamsupervision

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To beable to assist with the maintenance of patients hygiene needs ensuring privacyand dignity is maintained.
Toreport any changes in patients condition or care protocol to the trained staff.
Toundertake all training annually
Theability to recognise deteriorating patients and assist if an emergency occurs
Tomake legible entries in patient documentation, including instructions, requestsfor investigations, changes in care protocols or patient conditions, with allentries being counter-signed by a trained nurse
Conveyany verbal instructions and messages to the appropriate person
Participatein Face to Face and Online Training and Staff Meetings
Assistwith the handling and movement of patients in line with Manual HandlingRegulations
Escortpatients to other departments within the trust
Undertakeobservations of blood pressure, pulse, temperature, urinalysis, height andweight, BMI and glucose monitoring and recording results in documentation andconveying results to a trained nurse. Ensure out of range results areimmediately conveyed to clinical staff
Collection,recording and delivery of specimens to pathology following competency.
Record ECGs following Competence
Prepare and maintain environments andequipment before, during and after patient care interventions.
Participate in the Cleaning of theequipment and ward
Stock up the unit with consumables andmonitor stock levels
Participate in the monitoring, servicingand checks of equipment and report any faults in equipment.
Undertake dressing procedures followinglocal recommendations, complying with infection control principles andpractice.
Give accurate and appropriate informationto patients and groups within own competence.
Provide support and encouragement topatients to promote independence as appropriate.
Act as a chaperone, when requested.
Preparationof documentation as directed by clinical staff.
Toutilise all resources within the department effectively
To promotea manner as to justify public trust and confidence and to always uphold thegood standing and reputation of Spencer Private Hospitals

Toensure the working environment is safe for both patients and staff
Torecognise and report any situation which may affect the quality of patient care

Toparticipate in staff appraisal and the identification of personal needs and setand evaluate personal objectives
Toparticipate in in-house training sessions and attend meetings and discussionwhen required.
Toensure that all local policies and legal requirements relating to clinical careand Health and Safety are complied with
