An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Outpatients team! We are looking for a friendly, flexible and motivated Staff Nurse to join our forward thinking Outpatients Department in Canterbury based in the Kent and Canterbury hospital. Working closely with our fantastic nursing team and consultants, you will play a key role in supporting patients who access our consultant led clinics, minor surgery and clinical procedures and pre-operative assessment services. Our department delivers high quality care across a broad range of specialities including Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Paediatrics and General Surgery.

Our principle sites are in Margate, Ashford and Canterbury. The role is based in Canterbury predominantly, with occasional travel to other sites (Ashford, Margate or Deal). Our teams work in a supportive, inclusive environment which nurtures wellbeing and has opportunities for development and progression. We do not just care for our patients, we also care for you.
We offer enhancements for Saturdays and any work between 8pm and 7.30 am on weekdays at time + 30% of your basic salary rate. For Sundays and Bank Holidays, we offer at time + 60% of your basic salary.
Job responsibilities:
- To contribute to the maintenance of patient care standards and to assist with the implementation of changes to care delivery systems, methods and nursing practice in order to bring about improvements in the quality of care.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of nursing standards which reflect customer requirements and professional best practice.
- Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision providing individualised patient care.
- Provide professional leadership, advice and guidance within the team, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Assist and advise staff both registered and unregistered in the delivery of patient care.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records in line with professional standards.
- Have responsibility for the administration and custody of medicines in line with Spencer Private Hospitals (SPH) policy and professional standards.
- Assist in the maintenance of professional standards, highlighting to the line manager when standards are not seen to be met.
- Uphold the corporate values of SPH.
