We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to support the delivery of major HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) and Substation infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising mechanical installation activities, coordinating site teams and subcontractors, and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. This role is ideally suited to an individual with a strong background in heavy mechanical installation within HVDC converter stations, substations, power transmission, energy, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical installation activities on HVDC and substation projects
- Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and specialist installation crews
- Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and procedures
- Monitor progress against programme requirements and report on productivity, risks, and delays
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and equipment to support efficient project delivery
- Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements
- Support permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work
- Liaise with construction management, engineering teams, and other disciplines to ensure effective site coordination
- Assist with inspection and test activities, punch list management, and mechanical completion processes
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on HVDC, Substation, Power Transmission, Energy, or Major Infrastructure projects
- Strong background supervising heavy mechanical installation activities
- Experience managing large site teams and subcontractors
- Experience working within highly regulated construction environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
- Strong understanding of mechanical installation, quality control, and commissioning interfaces
