Contract: 6-Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Management Specialist to support Service operations on a 6-month contract based in Lincoln. This role is critical to ensuring effective inventory control across spares, repairs, overhauls, and service modifications, while minimising cost, excess stock, and obsolescence risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage service inventory to support spares orders, overhauls, repairs, and modifications
  • Translate demand forecasts into short- and long-term inventory plans
  • Proactively manage slow-moving, excess, and obsolete stock in collaboration with Operations
  • Ensure material availability while controlling inventory cost and financial exposure
  • Coordinate closely with Purchasing, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Sales teams
  • Manage aged work-in-progress and support cross-functional issue resolution
  • Produce inventory performance and efficiency reports for senior management
  • Drive process and system improvements within SAP and supporting databases

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or equivalent professional qualification (CIPS, IOM, Institute of Logistics)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in inventory, logistics, or supply chain management
  • Strong SAP knowledge (Materials Management, PM, Sales & Marketing)
  • Advanced Excel and forecasting tool capability
  • Commercially aware, analytical, and detail-focused
  • Confident communicator with the ability to challenge and improve inventory processes
  • Proven experience managing inventory change, obsolescence, and process improvement

This is a hands-on, operational role suited to someone who can quickly add value, work proactively across departments, and drive inventory efficiency in a fast-paced service environment.
