We are seeking an experienced Senior Protection & Control Engineer (CDAE) to support the delivery of high-voltage substation projects on a 6-month contract, with the potential for extension depending on project requirements. The role involves acting as a Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE), with time commitment flexible based on workload.
Role & Responsibilities
- Undertake senior and lead technical roles within project-specific, multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Act as a senior technical authority for Protection & Control (P&C) engineering.
- Lead P&C design deliverables across voltage levels from 11kV up to 400kV, with a strong emphasis on 132kV and above.
- Perform the role of CDAE for P&C on project teams.
- Carry out technical quality assurance reviews and provide design approval and sign-off for P&C designs and deliverables.
- Plan and lead client meetings, or relevant sections of meetings, related to P&C engineering.
- Act as Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE) in line with applicable client and industry procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a lead substation design role on UK transmission or distribution projects.
- Demonstrable experience acting as a CDAE for Protection & Control.
- Strong working knowledge of UK electricity transmission and distribution procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Thorough understanding and hands-on experience applying technical specifications, guidance notes, and design handbooks related to substation Protection & Control.
