Project Engineer β Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) We're recruiting on behalf of our client for a Project Engineer to support the technical execution and on-site delivery of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
This role combines engineering design with field execution, focusing on the delivery of Balance of Plant (BOP) works, including civil foundations, high-voltage electrical infrastructure and control systems.
Key Responsibilities Perform design modifications and update electrical and civil engineering drawings.
Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and review contractor submittals.
Oversee as-built documentation and drawing revisions.
Carry out quality inspections of civil, structural and electrical installations.
Coordinate the installation of battery containers, inverters and medium-voltage transformers.
Manage AC/DC cabling activities and support equipment integration.
Resolve technical issues between vendor-supplied equipment and site infrastructure.
Verify incoming equipment and materials against project requirements.
Monitor engineering progress and report technical updates.
Compile engineering documentation for project handover.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in utility-scale renewables, power generation or substations.
At least 2 years' experience working on-site for an EPC or Principal Contractor on BESS installations.
Proven ability to resolve technical discrepancies between civil, structural and electrical disciplines.
Proficiency with Auto CAD and Bluebeam Revu.
Familiarity with project tracking software such as MS Project or Procore is advantageous.
