Location: Hinkley Point C (minimum 3 days on-site) + Hybrid Working

Contract Type: 18m contract

Daily rate: £420 - £470 per day worked (inclusive of travel and accommodation)

Spencer Ogden on behalf of our client, a major player in the UK nuclear sector, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer (Review & Acceptance) to join the team at Hinkley Point C, the UK’s flagship nuclear new build project. You’ll be working as part of the Joint Design Office (JDO), ensuring all construction-driven design changes are technically sound, safely implemented, and aligned with quality and regulatory requirements.

The Role

As Civil Engineer (R&A), you will:

  • Lead the review and acceptance of design changes on-site raised via RFIs, FCRs, or NCRs.
  • Act as the technical interface between the construction contractors and design teams.
  • Support the release and handover of design packages for construction.
  • Ensure changes maintain the golden thread to the nuclear safety case.
  • Contribute to the configuration control of the site’s civil and structural elements.
  • Participate in readiness reviews and provide ongoing technical assurance during execution.
Essential:
  • Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Sound working knowledge of Eurocode 2 and reinforced concrete design.
  • Experience with change management in a construction environment (e.g. NCR, FCR, RFI).
  • Strong understanding of UK CDM Regulations and construction safety protocols.
  • Ability to manage technical documentation and quality processes in a highly regulated environment.
Desirable:
  • Prior nuclear industry experience or familiarity with PWR technology.
  • Chartered or working toward Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE).
  • Knowledge of safety case architecture, Intelligent Customer role, and contract management.
  • Familiarity with Joint Design Office (JDO) procedures and ETC-C tools.
