Role:Sustainability Manager

Location:Manchester

Package:£60,000 – £70,000 (DOE)

Spencer & James Recruitment are working with one of the UK\’s leading Tier 1 Construction & Property Services Contractors,are seeking a Sustainability Manager tolead on thedelivery ofa new Environmental Sustainability Plan by embedding resource-efficient practices across variousprojects.

In this role, youll collaborate with bid teams, designers, project managers, procurement, and supply chain partners to drive material reuse, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with UK waste legislation.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Lead resource efficiency initiatives across business units and sites
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste and maximise material recovery
  • Work closely with design and procurement teams to deliver sustainable solutions
  • Create performance metrics and automate reporting processes
  • Provide technical support for tenders and policy updates

What Were Looking For:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Science/Management
  • Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or working toward it
  • Strong knowledge of waste legislation, circular economy, and ISO standards
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Knowledge of sustainability impacts on the environment, within the built environment, construction and property services (incl retrofit and refurb) sectors.
