Reporting to the Sub-Agent or Site-Agent as required, as a Site Engineer you will be responsible for technical compliance of the works and undertaking engineering functions. As a key part of the management team, you would ensure the works are undertaken in line with the project and Contract requirements for all aspects of the works, as required by the Project Lead.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) working as a Site Engineer in civil engineering projects
- Strong setting out experience using GPS, total stations, and levelling equipment
- Demonstrated experience working on projects such as roads, drainage, earthworks, or structures
- Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Experience in quality control, inspections, and record keeping (e.g., ITPs, as-builts)
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations and site compliance requirements (e.g., CDM Regulations)
Technical Skills
- Proficient in setting out and surveying techniques
- Ability to interpret and work from complex engineering drawings
- Knowledge of QA processes and documentation
- Competence in using engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Trimble, Leica systems)
- Understanding of material specifications and construction methods
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues on site and propose practical solutions
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Strong commitment to safe working practices
- Knowledge of risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and permit systems
- CSCS card (essential)
- SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred)
- TWS or TWC (preferred)
