We are recruiting an experienced Site Engineer to work on a number of projects within our Building and Civils Division.
Responsibilities
- Ability to technically manage, verify, and oversee setting out and surveying activities across a site or section.
- High proficiency in interpreting, interrogating, and translating complex engineering drawings and identifying design clashes early.
- Mastery of QA processes, temporary works management, and overall technical compliance.
- Competence in using and reviewing data from engineering software (e. g., Auto CAD, Trimble, Leica systems) and digital project management tools.
- Deep knowledge of material specifications, sustainable construction methods, and value engineering solutions.
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex technical variations on site and propose practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Exemplary commitment to safe working practices, setting a strong safety culture on site.
- Expert knowledge and experience in drafting, reviewing, and approving Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and managing complex permit systems.
- CSCS Card (Management or Professionally Qualified Person level preferred).
- Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) qualification (Highly desirable/Essential depending on project profile).

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Professional qualification like MICE/IEng/CEng or working towards is highly desirable).
- Proven experience (typically 6+ years) working in civil engineering, with substantial experience operating at a Senior Engineer level or as an established Site Engineer ready to step up.
- Extensive experience delivering complex civil engineering packages such as major highways, deep drainage, heavy earthworks, or reinforced concrete structures.
- Proven track record of managing and mentoring junior engineers, section engineers, and setting-out surveyors.
- Deep understanding of construction contracts (e. g., NEC4), construction drawings, project specifications, and technical standards.
- Experience managing comprehensive quality control systems, including approving Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and sign-offs for final as-builts.
- Strong working knowledge of health & safety regulations, site compliance, and CDM Regulations.
