Spencer Group are recruiting a Senior Project Manager to work within our Rail division. This is an exciting design and build project to construct a brand-new railway station in Cambridgeshire.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility/accountability for the successful delivery of the project.
- Managing the project team to maximise efficiency and utilisation.
- Managing the specialist supply chain, supplier accounts and programme of works to ensure it achieves master project programme.
- Managing the contract programme and updating with the project planner to meet contractual reporting timescales.
- Fully understanding the scope of works and having the ability to identify change with a recovery-focused approach.
- Maximise opportunities and mitigate risks throughout the delivery phase.
- Ensuring health and safety compliance on site with a strong and positive safety culture focus.
- Stakeholder management.
- Ensuring the project remains compliant under CDM.
- Ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge and experience in rail civils.
- Experience in access planning, DWWP and QRSA process.
- Sound understanding of rail sector processes, timescales and standards to enter a brand-new asset into service.
- Experience of AMP process.
- Management of multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Strong cost control and change management ability experience (EWN’s, CE’s).
- Experience of working under an NEC form of contract.
- Ability to produce project documentation to a high standard and therefore achieve client acceptance including internal reporting.
- Strong understanding of CDM and safety within a rail environment, having the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risk.
- Ensuring the project QA process is being followed and evidenced throughout the delivery phase.
- Must be site based and willing to stay in accommodation near site if not within a commutable distance.
- Excellent communication skills are essential along with the ability to use basic computer software.
- Must have a proactive approach to work.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Qualifications Civil or structural engineering degree desirable but not essential.
- Experience of delivering multi-disciplinary schemes on the operational railway.
- Experience of AFA (access for all) schemes is a huge advantage.
- Experience of working to Network Rail standards.
- Project delivery experience in a lead position is essential.
- Experience of producing and presenting internal and external reports within specified deadlines.
- Some design exposure/experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Experience of working with cranes and lift planning is desirable.
- Appointed Persons qualification desirable but not essential.
- Experience of co-ordinating design changes through the TQ process.
