Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming primary school on the Wirral who are seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to take full responsibility for a Year 2 class throughout the academic year. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, foster a love of learning and support pupils as they continue to develop the key skills and knowledge required for Key Stage 1. The school offers a supportive leadership team, excellent classroom resources and a collaborative working environment. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

The Role:

  • Take full responsibility for a Year 2 class.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
  • Deliver high-quality phonics, reading, writing and maths lessons.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and senior leaders.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
  • Participate in PPA, staff meetings, parents' evenings and wider school life.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and ECTs.
  • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Experience teaching or completing placements within KS1 is desirable.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Passion for delivering engaging, creative and inclusive lessons.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
