Job Description

SEND Outreach Tutor - Gateshead & Newcastle (In-Person)
£27-£30 per hour | Flexible Hours | Immediate Start
/n We are recruiting experienced SEND Outreach Tutors to provide one-to-one, in-person tuition across Gateshead and Newcastle for learners referred by local authorities and schools.
/n You'll support children and young people who are out of education or require additional support due to SEND, SEMH needs or an EHCP. Tuition takes place in the learner's home or a suitable community venue, such as a library.
Key Responsibilities

/n

/n
- Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition that meets each learner's individual needs.
/n
- Adapt teaching methods to support learners with SEND, SEMH and other additional needs.
/n
- Plan engaging lessons that promote academic progress and build confidence.
/n
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate session records.
/n
- Work professionally with families, schools and local authority teams.
/n

Requirements

/n

/n
- Experience teaching or tutoring learners with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
/n
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is essential.
/n
- Strong behaviour management and the ability to build positive relationships.
/n
- QTS is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant tutoring or teaching experience.
/n
- Ability to travel across Gateshead and Newcastle for in-person tuition.
/n
