We are looking for dedicated Outreach Tutors to work with children and young people across Stockton-on-Tees on behalf of local authorities and schools. This is a rewarding role supporting learners who are currently unable to access mainstream education. Many learners have SEND, SEMH needs and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

The Role

  • Deliver 1:1, in-person tuition in the learner's home or a suitable public venue such as a library.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons that meet each learner's individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships and help learners regain confidence and make academic progress.
  • Work flexibly around learner availability, including during school hours.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching or tutoring children and young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs is essential.
  • A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential.
  • Experience working with learners with EHCPs is highly desirable.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant tutoring/teaching experience is welcomed.
  • Reliable transport and willingness to travel within Stockton-on-Tees.
