A specialist independent school in Stockport is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Maths Teacher to join their dedicated team on an immediate basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a Maths Teacher who is passionate about supporting young people with SEND, autism and SEMH needs and wants to make a genuine difference to pupils who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education.
The Role
- Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons.
- Adapt teaching and learning to meet individual SEND and SEMH needs.
- Support pupils to make progress against their individual learning outcomes.
- Create a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
- Develop positive relationships with pupils and help build their confidence and self-esteem.
- Work closely with teaching and therapeutic staff to support pupils holistically.
- Contribute to assessment, tracking and curriculum development.
- Help prepare pupils for future education, employment and independent living.

The Ideal Candidate
- Have QTS or relevant teaching experience.
- Have experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
- Have experience working with, or a strong interest in supporting, pupils with SEND/SEMH.
- Be confident adapting lessons to individual needs.
- Have excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills.
- Be patient, resilient and passionate about helping young people succeed.
- Work effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
