We are looking for a Social Care Officer to join a respected Family Time Service in Newcastle. The organisation is dedicated to helping children and their families spend safe, meaningful, and positive time together. You will be part of a passionate and supportive team committed to ensuring children feel safe, happy, and heard.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and supervise Family Time sessions between children and their parents or immediate family members.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, foster carers, and schools.
- Transport children to and from their sessions in a safe and reliable way.
- Observe and record Family Time sessions, offering guidance to families when needed.
- Share clear information with Social Workers to support family assessments.
- Help create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for children and families during their time together.
Key Requirements
- Experience working with children, young people, or families - especially those who may be vulnerable or facing challenges.
- Strong communication and observation skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Reliable, organised, and confident working independently.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.
- Full driving licence and ability to transport children safely.
Contract Length: 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.
Pay Rate: £16-£20
Working pattern: 37 hours per week
