A Local Authority in London is looking to recruit a Senior Finance Officer on a Permanent Basis.

  • Hybrid Working (couple of times a month in the office)

What does this role entail? Here is a very brief snapshot:

  • Report to the VAT Accountant and support on a range of areas within the Corporate Accountancy team
  • Completion of the monthly CIS Returns and VAT claims
  • Liaising with HMRC and addressing any VAT-related queries
  • Monitoring and reporting on financial controls
  • Support on completion of the annual Statement of Accounts and associated processes
  • Completion of government and other statutory returns
  • Balance sheet and other reconciliations
  • Liaising with and providing information to internal and external audit as required

What are the essentials for this role?

  • Any local government Corporate Accountancy experience is highly welcomed
  • Excellent communication skills and an exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data analysis
  • You need to be working within a finance team related role in a local authority or wider public sector or not-for-profit organisation environment as part of a Financial Accounting Team
