The predicted salary is between 50400 - 62400 £ per year.

I'm recruiting for experienced SEND Caseworkers to join a Local Authority SEND Team, with a particular focus on Specialist Placement annual reviews and wider annual review casework. The role will involve managing a designated caseload of children and young people with SEND, coordinating annual reviews and ensuring EHCPs remain appropriate, accurate and compliant with statutory requirements.

Rate of pay: £280 - £300 per day

Working Arrangements: Hybrid or Remote working

Contract: 3-6 months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND, with a focus on Specialist Placement annual reviews.
  • Coordinate and complete annual review processes from start to finish.
  • Liaise with parents/carers, schools, specialist settings and professionals to gather relevant information and advice.
  • Review existing EHCPs and identify where amendments to needs, outcomes or provision are required.
  • Process EHCP amendments following annual reviews and ensure plans accurately reflect the child's or young person's current needs.
  • Ensure all annual review casework is completed within statutory timescales.
  • Work closely with specialist education settings to ensure appropriate provision continues to meet individual needs.
  • Provide advice and guidance to families, schools and other professionals throughout the annual review process.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records and documentation.
  • Ensure all casework is undertaken in line with the SEND Code of Practice, legislation and local authority policies.
  • Build effective working relationships with families, education settings and wider SEND professionals.

Experience Required:

  • Recent experience working within a Local Authority SEND service.
  • Strong experience managing annual review casework.
  • Experience of Specialist Placement annual reviews would be highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of EHCPs, amendments and statutory SEND processes.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work to statutory deadlines.

This role would suit an experienced SEND Caseworker, EHCP Officer, Annual Review Officer or Specialist Placement Caseworker with strong Local Authority SEND experience.
