Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist provision in Preston, supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to deliver personalised support, promote positive behaviour, and help pupils achieve their individual targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs in both 1:1 and small group settings.
- Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans and EHCP targets.
- Provide support with academic tasks, communication, social skills, and emotional regulation.
- Promote an inclusive and safe learning environment tailored to individual needs.
- Assist with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques when required.
- Support teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resources.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and report concerns to senior staff.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external professionals.
- Provide personal care support where required.
- Contribute to the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils.
Desired Experience
Experience in any of the following roles is beneficial: Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Support Worker. Experience working with pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech.
