SEMH Learning Support - Full time!

Hours: 8am - 3:30pm - Mon - Fri

Pay Rate: £106 and up based on experience! Start Date: ASAP (after passing background checks)

Duties

  • Provide support both one on one and in groups to students with SEMH needs, ensuring their emotional and educational requirements are met.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social skills and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students during lessons, helping them engage with the curriculum effectively.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.
  • Employ effective communication strategies to encourage students' participation and confidence in learning activities.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or people with SEMH needs, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and communication skills.
  • Alternate education qualifications in education or special education is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience when working with children facing emotional challenges.
