About the Role
We are seeking a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming secondary school on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting students' learning while taking on additional classroom responsibilities. As a HLTA, you will work closely with teachers to support students across a range of subjects, deliver planned lessons in the teacher's absence, and provide targeted intervention for individuals and small groups. Your contribution will play a key role in helping students achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
- Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups to improve progress and attainment
- Work alongside teaching staff to plan and deliver effective learning activities
- Support students with a range of learning needs, adapting resources where appropriate
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Promote positive behaviour and support the school's behaviour policy
Requirements
- HLTA status or relevant experience working in a similar role within a secondary school
- Experience supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Confidence leading whole-class learning when required
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students and staff
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
