Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs outside of mainstream education? Spencer Clarke Group is currently looking for compassionate, dedicated, and experienced SEMH tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition across Manchester for young people who may be:

  • Out of mainstream education
  • Struggling with attendance or school refusal
  • Experiencing anxiety, trauma, or emotional barriers to learning
  • Diagnosed with ASD or ADHD
  • Displaying challenging behaviour linked to unmet educational needs
  • Finding traditional school settings challenging

This role is ideal for tutors who can build positive relationships, adapt learning to individual needs, and help rebuild confidence, resilience, and engagement with education through tailored 1:1 support.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 1 year tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or support work experience
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches
  • Ability to deliver tailored, engaging 1:1 sessions
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, or behavioural needs desirable
  • Experience supporting GCSE or Functional Skills learners beneficial
  • Availability for flexible daytime sessions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
