We are looking for a caring, resilient and confident Pastoral Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a SEND school in the Manchester/Salford area. This is a rewarding role supporting children with additional needs, behavioural challenges and social/emotional development.
The role will involve:
- Providing pastoral and classroom support to pupils with SEND
- Delivering 1:1 support and small group interventions
- Supporting behaviour management and emotional wellbeing
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Helping pupils engage with learning and daily routines
- Working closely with teachers and support staff
What we're looking for:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
- Transferable skills welcomed including support work, care work, youth work, mentoring, coaching, residential care, psychology graduates, sports coaching, and childcare experience
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Child & Adult) preferred - happy to support and pay for a new DBS if needed
