We are looking for a caring, resilient and confident Pastoral Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a SEND school in the Manchester/Salford area. This is a rewarding role supporting children with additional needs, behavioural challenges and social/emotional development.

The role will involve:

  • Providing pastoral and classroom support to pupils with SEND
  • Delivering 1:1 support and small group interventions
  • Supporting behaviour management and emotional wellbeing
  • Assisting with personal care where required
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Helping pupils engage with learning and daily routines
  • Working closely with teachers and support staff

What we're looking for:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
  • Transferable skills welcomed including support work, care work, youth work, mentoring, coaching, residential care, psychology graduates, sports coaching, and childcare experience
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Child & Adult) preferred - happy to support and pay for a new DBS if needed
