Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of non-school attendance prosecutions from initial review through to conclusion.
  • Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to client departments and enforcement teams.
  • Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates' Court where required.
  • Assist with a wider range of local authority prosecutions including environmental, regulatory, and enforcement matters.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer in England & Wales.
  • Proven background in local authority prosecutions or criminal/regulatory litigation.
  • Essential: Experience handling non-school attendance (education) prosecutions.
  • Experience preparing cases and attending court (advocacy desirable).
