We are recruiting a dedicated, compassionate, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Preston from January. This is a long-term opportunity working with SEN pupils, providing both 1:1 and classroom-based support, with a strong focus on Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and can bring a calm, consistent, and nurturing approach to the classroom. Personal care will be required for some pupils.

The Role:
  • Delivering 1:1 tailored support to pupils with ASC and additional needs
  • Supporting pupils within the classroom environment to access learning
  • Assisting with personal care, routines, and emotional regulation where required
  • Implementing support strategies in line with EHCPs and guidance from teaching staff
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and wider support teams
  • Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience supporting SEN pupils, particularly those with ASC
  • Background in support work, youth work, care work, or SEN education (highly valued)
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour and emotional needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare
  • Personal experience supporting SEND (family or informal) is welcomed and valued
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children's development and wellbeing
