We are recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in secondary schools across Preston and the surrounding areas from September 2026. Opportunities are available in a variety of settings, including schools in Fulwood, Penwortham, Bamber Bridge, Longridge, Leyland and other nearby areas.
These roles include both general classroom support positions and dedicated 1:1 support roles for pupils with additional needs. Whether you have previous school-based experience or have worked with children and young people in another setting, we would be keen to hear from you.
The Role
- Supporting teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Providing general classroom support across a range of subjects.
- Working on a 1:1 basis with students who require additional support.
- Assisting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to access learning.
- Encouraging student engagement, confidence and progress.
- Supporting students' social, emotional and academic development.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in a school setting, or experience working with children or young people in a relevant role such as youth work, sports coaching, tutoring, mentoring, residential care or community support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, supportive and adaptable approach.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Desirable Experience
- Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Experience delivering 1:1 interventions or targeted support.
