Operational Manager Location: South East Rate: Negotiable Contract: 6 - Months Ongoing Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority to appoint an Operational Manager for there home improvement agency. This is a hands-on operational management role, leading the technical delivery of home repairs, improvements and adaptations so disabled and vulnerable residents can live safely and independently at home. You will supervise a small surveying team, oversee contractor performance, act as the technical lead across specifications, compliance, procurement and quality assurance. Responsibilities include * Supervise and support a small team of Surveyors, keeping workloads balanced and cases moving through to completion * Quality check schedules of work and technical outputs to ensure consistency, compliance and good practice * Provide technical advice to colleagues, partners and customers, helping resolve issues and agree practical solutions * Lead on contractor management including monitoring performance, reviewing KPIs, addressing quality concerns and producing reports * Draft and review technical specifications, support tender evaluations, and ensure procurement processes are followed correctly * Undertake property visits when required to assess defects, design solutions and plan repairs, adaptations and building alterations * Ensure works comply with building regulations and wider safety requirements, including CDM responsibilities where needed * Work closely with caseworkers, OTs and grants colleagues to ensure works are appropriate, delivered on time and kept within DFG budgets * Support the Service Manager on technical matters and deputise when required, including responding to complaints and service improvements About you * Proven experience managing and supervising staff in a technical property, surveying or construction environment * Strong background delivering repairs, improvements and adaptations, with the ability to manage projects end to end * Relevant technical qualification (HND Building, CIOB, RICS or equivalent) and a solid understanding of building and planning regulations * Good knowledge of health and safety, with CDM and asbestos awareness training * Comfortable producing measured drawings and schedules of work, ideally using AutoCAD * Strong report writing and performance analysis skills, with the ability to present updates to stakeholders * Ability to travel between sites, including rural locations How to Apply Send your CV or get in touch with Joe O'Halloran at Spencer Clarke Group on (phone number removed) or
