Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and creative Peripatetic Maths Teacher (SEN) to deliver personalised maths education across multiple sites. You will support learners aged 7-19 who may struggle in mainstream education, helping them re-engage, build confidence and achieve their potential through flexible, inclusive and multi-sensory teaching approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and review personalised maths programmes
- Teach in small groups and on a 1:1 basis across sites
- Use adaptive and engaging teaching strategies to meet diverse needs
- Support learners' academic, social and emotional development
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion
- Contribute to curriculum development and innovative practice
- Track progress, complete assessments and maintain accurate records (including EHCPs)
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and support transition planning
- Engage in ongoing professional development
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching Maths
- Commitment to inclusive, learner-centred practice
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (with business insurance)
- Willingness to travel between sites
Desirable:
- Experience within SEN or alternative provision
- Knowledge of multi-sensory/holistic teaching approaches
- Experience supporting disengaged learners
