We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the M30 area. This is a full-time position with an immediate start and strong long-term potential for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress
  • Promote positive behaviour and support individual learning plans (EHCPs where applicable)

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a school or SEND environment is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or similar
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (UDS), or willingness to obtain a new one
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach

Transferable Skills / Experience:

  • Experience in care, youth work, support work, or similar roles
  • Background in psychology, education, or child development
  • Experience supporting individuals with additional needs in any setting
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs
