A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and values-driven senior leader to join a specialist education and care organisation supporting children, young people and adults with complex needs. We are seeking an exceptional Managing Director to provide strategic leadership across a well-established multi-service provision delivering specialist education, residential care and adult services within a highly supportive and person-centred environment. This is a pivotal executive leadership role, responsible for organisational performance, strategic growth, financial sustainability and service excellence across regulated services. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director will lead the organisation through its next phase of development, ensuring high-quality outcomes, operational stability and a strong safeguarding culture remain central to everything delivered. The successful candidate will oversee senior leaders across education, residential care, adult services, estates, HR and finance, ensuring services remain compliant, sustainable and aligned to organisational values. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and organisational direction across all services
  • Lead and support the Senior Leadership Team across education, care and operational functions
  • Maintain oversight of quality assurance, safeguarding and regulatory compliance
  • Drive occupancy, sustainability and service development initiatives
  • Develop strong relationships with commissioners, local authorities and external stakeholders
  • Support financial oversight, workforce planning and organisational growth
  • Promote a positive, collaborative and accountable culture across the organisation
  • Report directly to the Board on performance, quality, risk and strategic priorities

We are looking for an experienced senior leader with a strong track record within regulated environments such as:

  • Specialist education
  • Residential children's care
  • Adult social care
  • SEND provision
  • Multi-service care environments

You will demonstrate:

  • Strong strategic and operational leadership experience
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and senior managers
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, compliance and quality assurance frameworks
  • Commercial awareness and financial understanding
  • Experience building relationships with commissioners and stakeholders
  • A visible, values-led leadership style with excellent communication skills
