Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for an interim Lead Estates Manager to support a public sector organisation in London. This is a senior estates management role with responsibility for day-to-day management across a varied portfolio, supporting service delivery and maximising income performance.
You will lead on landlord and tenant matters across commercial and operational assets, working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure the estate is well-managed, compliant, and delivering value.
Responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day estates management across a mixed portfolio (commercial and operational)
- New lettings, tenancy management, lease compliance and tenant liaison
- Rent collection support, arrears and debt management, and performance monitoring
- Handling landlord and tenant matters including assignments, subletting, and licences for alterations
- Advising on rating matters and supporting valuation and wider asset planning activity
- Coordinating with FM and surveying colleagues to progress repairs and related works
- Maintaining accurate estate records and supporting reporting and governance requirements
- Supervising and guiding an estates management function to deliver service targets
About You:
- Strong experience in estates management, ideally within a local authority or wider public sector estate
- Solid understanding of landlord and tenant matters and commercial portfolio performance
- Confident stakeholder management skills and ability to represent the service in meetings
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage priorities in a busy environment
- Comfortable working on-site and taking ownership of day-to-day estates issues
