South London.

In this role, you will assess homelessness applications, make legally sound housing decisions, and provide guidance to support effective homelessness prevention and relief.

Duties

  • Assess homelessness applications in line with legislation, guidance and Council policy.
  • Make complex decisions on homelessness duties and private rented sector offers.
  • Prepare clear decision letters, reports and legal documentation.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on housing law and complex cases.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience conducting complex homelessness assessments and investigations.
  • Experience applying Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
  • Experience making legally compliant housing decisions and writing decision letters.
  • Experience advising or supporting colleagues on housing law and complex cases.
