Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for a Garages Surveyor to support the day-to-day management of a local authority garage portfolio. The focus is on inspections, repairs, lettings and void control, plus ensuring the portfolio remains safe, compliant and income-performing.

This is a customer-facing role, working closely with internal teams, contractors and residents. You will help maximise rental income through efficient turnaround of voids and robust asset management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing garage lettings and voids, including marketing vacant units and progressing agreements
  • Carrying out routine inspections and identifying repair and compliance requirements
  • Instructing and monitoring reactive repairs, coordinating contractors and internal services
  • Maintaining accurate records on lettings, inspections, repairs and performance
  • Supporting income performance, including liaison around rent collection and recovery activity
  • Preparing performance information, briefings and basic statistical reporting
  • Identifying sites with redevelopment or disposal potential and supporting option development

About you:

  • Experience in property, facilities, estates or asset management (ideally within a public sector or customer-focused environment)
  • Understanding of managing lettings, licences/tenancies, void control and income performance
  • Strong organisation and stakeholder management skills, comfortable dealing with residents and enquiries
  • Confident producing clear written updates and working with data (Excel and property systems)
  • Full UK driving licence preferred (and able to attend sites)
