Compliance Manager
/n Location: London
/n Rate: £320-£420 per day
/n Contract: interim/ongoing
/n
Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority to appoint a Compliance Manager within their Strategic Property Team.
/n
This is a project-focused post to help ensure the Council's property estate meets statutory compliance requirements. You will carry out inspections across the Borough, coordinate remedial works with contractors, and keep compliance records accurate and up to date, working alongside the permanent compliance function.
/n
Responsibilities include
/n * Completing site inspections across the Council estate to confirm statutory compliance requirements are being met
/n * Identifying gaps in compliance and arranging corrective actions with third-party contractors
/n * Managing contractors to deliver remedial works to the required standard and timescales
/n * Reviewing contractor compliance certificates and escalating or arranging follow-on actions where needed
/n * Updating the compliance tracker and maintaining clear audit-ready documentation
/n * Working closely with the wider project team and the permanent Compliance Team to support a smooth handover into business as usual
/n
About you
/n * Strong working knowledge of property-related statutory compliance obligations in a public sector estate setting
/n * Experience inspecting buildings and identifying required compliance works
/n * Practical understanding of building pathology and M&E systems to support accurate compliance decisions
/n * Proven ability to manage contractors and drive remedial actions through to completion
/n * Excellent attention to detail and confidence maintaining compliance trackers and documentation
/n * Able to travel regularly between sites, as public transport options may be limited
