About the Role
Are you confident working with young people and interested in gaining classroom experience in secondary education? Spencer Clarke Group is working closely with several supportive secondary schools in Kirby who are seeking Unqualified Cover Supervisors to support classes in the absence of teaching staff. This role is ideal for individuals with experience working with young people such as youth work, coaching, tutoring, or similar who are looking to develop their skills in a classroom setting and explore a future career in education.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes during teacher absences and deliver pre-prepared lesson materials.
- Manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain on task.
- Maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
- Support students with basic questions related to set work.
- Follow school policies and work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
What We’re Looking For
- Confidence leading and supervising groups of secondary-aged students.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential).
- A calm, professional, and reliable approach.
- Flexibility to work across different schools and placements.
